After long two days of traveling we made it to Katmandu last Saturday. It took us about two days to recover, arrange a flight to the beginning of the Everest Base Camp trek and get the permits.
On Tuesday morning we made our way to the domestic part of Katmandu Airport and after about two hours we were sitting in a small plane ready to take off to Lukla. After about an hour of sitting in the plane the pilot told us that the Lukla airport is closed to to bad visibility and we went back to the terminal. Eventually, after waiting four more hours we were told that our flight was cancelled and we should rebook for Wednesday. We did and the same think happened today (we didn’t really get to sit in the plane today but the rest was the same).
So, we are still in Katmandu and tomorrow morning we are going to the airport again. In the meantime we were traveling in Katmandu.
Update:
We are already in the mountains and have a very slow internet connection. You can read more in Michal’s blog (updated only until our flight to Lukla) here.
