After 4 months away we are back in Calgary. We started our trip baking and filming in a bakery in Tengboche Monastery, on the way to the Everest base camp in Nepal. We’ve also baked and filmed at a makeshift bakery in a tent at Everest base camp, the highest bakery in the world, catering for the climbers that attempt to summit the mountain. From Nepal we went to Paris where I was lucky to work with Jean-Luc Poujauran, one of Paris’s most famous artisan bakers, whose bread is served in some of the best restaurants in the city. He is a true bread artist who has committed the past 27 years of his life to perfecting the making of sourdough bread, and who was generous enough to show me his craft and share his knowledge. It was a wonderful adventure, and it is nice to come back. I am excited to start baking again and to test new ideas. I’ve found a place to bake and am in the process of buying an oven. I will be updating my blog/twitter about the progress and will let you know as soon as I’m able to resume my Monday deliveries. I am really looking forward to starting this project again and to see you all. Aviv.
