
I am starting to bake again this weekend and I am very exited about it. Bread will be in the regular stores starting next week and Monday Bread Delivery will resume on August 23rd. I will send an email with the details but it will probably be a sourdough with Red Fife Whole-Wheat from Mark’s beautiful organic wheat farm. This is my favourite bread and a lot of my recipes are based on it, so I would like to start over with it.
The Red Fife flour comes from Mark’s beautiful farm near Starthmore, Alberta. I have been buying and using Mark’s flour for a while but today I actually visited his farm, walked through the fields of wheat and took some pictures (such as the one above). Mark and his partners are running a small scale organic operation and I hope to get all my whole-wheat flour from them.
Apart from the stores, I will be selling bread and other baked goodies at Hillhurst Sunnyside Farmers Market next Wednesday from 3:30 till 7:30. If you care to come and say hello please do.
